Dr. Kathleen J. McInnis is a national security strategist with extensive experience across defense policy, advanced technologies, and international security operations. She has almost 30 years' experience with US government procurements and has won multiple contract awards. Prior to her role as Board Chair for LIS, Dr. McInnis served as a senior expert at the Congressional Research Service, advising Congress on defense policy, military operations, irregular warfare, and global strategy. Her prior roles include work in the Office of the Secretary of Defense on NATO operations in Afghanistan and research on NATO and transatlantic security at Chatham House and Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). A frequent commentator on military policy, Dr. McInnis brings deep expertise in alliance management, strategic communications, and defense innovation—key areas for aerospace organizations operating in complex global security environments.
